Cinelli Tour d’Afrique

After the first experience in Uganda, BOOTLEG starts a new Africa adventure to test the "Racing Rats" along the world’s longest bicycle race: The Tour d’Afrique, an 11,693 km bicycle expedition and race from Cairo to Cape Town.

Traveling more than 70 miles per day, 50 racers and expedition riders will experience the boundless Nubian desert of Sudan, the great majesty of Victoria Falls, and finally the cold rush of the Atlantic Ocean.

The Racing Rats will be ridden by Tour Leader Sharita Van der Merwe, the Race Director Cristiano Wernick, and the Medic Claire Peglar.

Cinelli/Tour d’Afrique cycling caps and T-shirts will be on sale on Cinelli Genuine Merchandise website with the intent of raising 3000 Euros with the proceeds being given to the Tour d’Afrique Foundation to use in purchasing bicycles during the 2013 Tour d’Afrique expedition. The merchandise will be available here soon.
