One of Cinelli's framebuilders in the 1980s was Mario Camilotto. A website dedicated to him has been launched: www.mariocamilotto.com. The bio for Mario states that be did the framebuilding for Cinelli, of primarily Super Corsas, from 1988 to 1991. I will translate some of the information contained in the website in the future.
Camilotto during the period he was framebuilding for Cinelli.
One of the 400 Camilotto frames made under his name.

A reader sent me this photo of his new Supercorsa, made with Columbus SL. It has a serial number of Z012.
I'm told by Cinelli that this serial numbering system was implemented in 2010 in which the first letter represents a year and the following numbers represents the frame number for that year. Z corresponds to 2012 so this would have been the twelfth frame in 2012.
btw, the reader is recovering from a back problem so hence the build for now.

My thanks to Siegfried for sending in photos (click on them to enlarge) of a friend's 1963 Cinelli SC with an original Reynolds decal. We don't see many of these.
I happen to have some images of a 1963 Ron Kitching catalog in which it indicates the Supercorsa is made as having the main triangle in Reynolds 531 and the fork and stays in double butted Columbus.

The new book titled "Cinelli: The Art and Design of the Bicycle" is now available in English in bookstores. The publisher is Rizzoli, ISBN: 978-0-8478-3867-7.
A beautifully illustrated survey of more than sixty-five years of work by one of the most pioneering and influential names in bicycle design. Since Cino Cinelli began making frames in Italy in the 1940s, Cinelli has set the standards for bicycle and component design. Cinelli has led the evolution of professional cycling and defined the ideal of the classic bicycle: from the classic Supercorsa racing frame to the cutting-edge MASH fixed-gear pursuit bikes ubiquitous on the urban riding scene; from innovations such as the first plastic racing saddles to the controversial Spinaci handlebars, banned from competition; and from timeless components, such as the Alter stem, to iconic meetings of art and design such as Keith Haring’s treatment of the hour record-setting Laser.
With contributions by legendary riders such as Felice Gimondi and Gilberto Simoni, and by collaborators, from artists like Mike Giant to designers such as San Francisco’s graphic impresario Benny Gold, and featuring a conversation between fashion designer Sir Paul Smith and Cinelli president Antonio Colombo, Cinelli is the definitive look at how beauty and technology can meet in this simplest form of design.
About the Author
Lodovico Pignatti Morano is a writer and consultant based in Milan. Antonio Colombo has been the President and owner of Cinelli and Columbus since 1973, and is the director of a contemporary art gallery in Milan. Felice Gimondi is one of only five cyclists in history to win all three Grand Tours: the Tour de France, the Giro d’Italia, and the Vuelta a España.

Yes, the newest version of the iconic Cinelli Laser is in carbon and is named the "Laser Viva" (above, click on image to enlarge). Coming in 2013.
More recently Mr. Andrea Pesenti, the builder of the original Lasers, was involved in the creation of a small limited edition of steel Lasers ("Laser Nostra", seehere). Now, Mr. Pesenti has been involved as well in the carbon creation named the Laser Viva which is said to have the same "look and feel". Photo of the limited edition "Laser Nostra", September 2011:
The Cinelli Viva is entered in the Bike MOTION Benelux Awards competition and Cinelli would like votes for it. If you wish to vote go here and this is the translated information you will need:

A 1965 Supercorsa, as built up by the legendary Spence Wolf of the Cupertino Bike Shop, graces the front of a new calendar being offered by Bicycle Quarterly for 2013. The "Classic Bicycles: calendar featuring studio photos of thirteen classic bicycles.
Other racing bikes include Eddy Merckx’ winning machine, Francesco Moser’s hour record bike, and René Vietto’s aluminum Barra. The calendar also features a motorpaced stayer bike, an American six-day racer, and the bike of the first female U.S. champion from 1936. Admirers of cyclotouring bikes will enjoy machines from René Herse, Alex Singer, Camille Daudon and Goéland, as well as the amazing 1930s Schulz.
Most of the photos have been published in the books The Golden Age of Handbuilt Bicycles and The Competition Bicycle, but now you can admire them on your wall as you plan your year. Detail views and historic photos of the featured bikes, as well as brief captions, complete the calendar.

This blog entry adds photos of another Centurion "Cinelli Project", this one in silver. The first I became aware of one these was in this previous post.
Another reader wrote about these frames, "A guy who worked at a Centurion dealer in California in
the 80's said that these prototypes were brought to dealers to try to drum up
orders for the coming Equipe."

Georg's newly discovered 1973 Cinelli SC. Interestingly, it has the BB cutouts of the Brugelmann "Leggerissimo" model; this is the second one I've seen with the BB drilled pattern that is not in the yellow/red that distinguishes the Brugelmann Leggerissimo. The first is here, with the serial number of 2238 (note that it however does not have chromed lugs). This blue CInelli was sold by Sport Altmann in Germany.
Photos of a Brugelmann Leggerissimo, for reference, here.

A nice Cinelli Cinetica is on ebay at this moment but it has some issues, "the right side
shifting lever cable guided probably dropped inside the frame, and it
became not usable. I am not an engineer, I cannot repair it. The
shifting cable don't come out from the frame, but the cable house is
inside the frame."
Interestingly, the frame has no serial number, the seller speculates that it may have been a prototype. Size is given as 57.
You can find more Cinelli Cinetica information from previous blog posts, see the right column under Cinetica.

This frame was recently sold as a "Vintage CINELLI Schuster Columbus SLX Frame & Fork Super Corsa".
There is not such a Cinelli bicycle.
It is known that Mr. Schuster, owner of the Schuster bicycle shop in Germany, had frames made by the Italian subcontractor Vetta that had "Schuster"
pantographs on the fork crown and seat-stays. The lugs and BBs on these
bikes were always Cinelli (Cinelli was at the time also in the business
of selling framebuilding parts, lugs, bb, brake bridges, fork crowns,
etc).
Also, you can clearly see that there isn't a Cinelli serial number.
